Kungkungan Bay Dive Resort is located on an old coconut plantation in the heart of the Lembeh Strait. The resort has its own private bay offering calm waters all year round, with a house reef that showcases all the wonders of Lembeh Strait.
Warmly known as KBR, Kungkungan Bay Dive Resort features various types of guest rooms, with 16 out of the 17 rooms located on the water. Specifically designed to achieve a pleasing aesthetic effect with minimum impact on the environment, the resort reflects the local Minahasan culture by using local materials and traditional architecture, while adding western style bathrooms and amenities for greater comfort. Some of the houses share verandas and are designed to meet the international standard of convenience, safety, and privacy.
Facilities at KBR include swim up bar, lounge, hot showers, camera rinse tank, library, internet access, and a social hub. The restaurant serves up Asian cuisine, but visitors can also request for western alternatives, to suite their preferred diet. Restaurant services are available 24 hours every-day. If booked, the tour instructors can arrange local trips to cultural places, wildlife tours, and market visits. Kungkungan Bay Dive Resort is an 80-minute drive from Manado Airport.
Further KBR facilities include equipment rental services, instructions, cameras, and nitrox ‘membrane system’. The resort also offers the Waterfront Infinity pool and the Tepi Laut (Seaside) Day Spa. The dive sites are full of marine life. On the house reef, you will find mimic octopus, frogfish, and cowfish. Divers may encounter seahorses, dragonettes, shrimp, octopus, scorpionfish, and other weird and wonderful creatures of the ocean.
