Buddy Dive Resort resort is complete with seven modern buildings housing spacious one, two and three bedroom apartments, a full service dive center, activity desk, two swimming pools, restaurant, pool bar, a beach volleyball court, vehicle rentals, and the famous drive-thru air and Nitrox fill station. Built with active travelers in mind, Buddy`s knows exactly what is needed to make guests comfortable during their busy day of scuba diving, exploring, and after.

Bonaire’s waters offer something special for every diver. Novice divers will appreciate the calm waters, reefs that run parallel to shore, and minimal currents. These conditions make it an ideal location to really work on improving those buoyancy skills! And the abundance of marine life living along the shallow drop-off area of the reef slope allows for maximum bottom time while giving new divers an opportunity to develop a level of comfort and confidence in their newly learned skills.

Photographers, videographers, and fish lovers will delight in the 364 species of fish that can be found in the waters at Buddy Dive Resort, most of which call Buddy Reef their home. Our lively house reef is just a giant stride away from our dock and teems with abundant marine life and colorful coral formations, perfect for diving day, night, or the active hours in between.

Buddy Dive Watersports

With as many as 60 officially listed dive sites on Bonaire and another 20 dive sites on Klein Bonaire, the dive operation at Buddy Dive Resort is here for you to make the most out of your dive vacation. Their fleet of custom dive boats and a well-stocked ‘Drive Thru’ offering air and nitrox tanks, ensure satisfaction for every diver is achieved.

Experience friendly dive staff on morning and afternoon boat dives. Every day of the year Buddy Dive’s custom dive boats go out to explore the many dive sites on the nearby island of Klein Bonaire, a short 10-minute boat ride away, or to other spectacular dive sites not accessible from shore. Even Klein Bonaire is visited at night on a regular boat night dive.

Divers of all levels and experience can take advantage of the freedom of unlimited shore diving, making as many dives a day as they want, according to their safety profiles. Plenty of 80 and 63 cubic foot air and Nitrox tanks are available at either the Drive-Thru or on the dock. Convenient benches for gear set-up and two sturdy ladders also provide easy access to the water. Rinse tanks are located at the Drive-Thru as well as on the docks where there is an extensive gear storage room. This simply makes diving at Buddy’s easy and enjoyable.

In addition to their boat and shore diving operations, Buddy Dive instructors are available for classes ranging from basic open water courses to professional development. Rounding out this full-service dive center, Buddy Dive has a complete inventory of rental gear, along with a retail shop outfitted with a wide range of gear, accessories, t-shirts, and other souvenirs.

Location

Bonaire, an island municipality of the Netherlands, lies 30 miles from Curacao, 50 miles north of Venezuela, 86 miles east of Aruba, in the southern Caribbean. Bonaire is 24 miles long and 3 – 5 miles wide.

Buddy Dive Resort is ideally located approximately 2 miles north from the capital city of Kralendijk, along the west coast of Bonaire. Guests with car rental may enjoy easy access to the restaurants, bars, and shops of Bonaire’s charming capital.

Due to its positioning, this idyllic island is outside of the hurricane belt and consequently enjoys beautiful weather throughout the year. With average air temperatures of 82°F, and water temperatures averaging 80°F, there is little rainfall and easterly trade winds provide mild breezes to keep conditions ideal for vacationing year-round.

Bonaire also offers excellent scuba diving, snorkeling and windsurfing, and has been designated as having the most pristine coral reef environment and most species of fish in the Caribbean by the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration.
